Alvarado has Laurent thrown in prison, but the latter escapes, and five-years later is a pirate leader. He poses as the navigator on a ship in which Contessa Francesca, daughter of a Mexican noble, is traveling on her way to marry Alvarado, whom she has never seen. Laurent's pirates capture the ship and Francesa, in order to save another ship, gives her hand-in-marriage to Laurent, who sails her to the pirate hideout. This irks the jealous Anne Bonney and,also, Captain Benjamin Black, who was already irked, anyway. They overpower Laurent and send Francesa to Alvarado, and then Mario du Billar, trusted right-hand man, makes a deal to deliver Laurent to Alvarado also.

Short Attention Span Theater, which ran on Comedy Central from 1989–1994, is a pastiche of various comedians and clips from movies airing on HBO and Cinemax that month along with entertainment news and commentary from the show's host. The original hosts were Jon Stewart and Patty Rosborough. The last two live seasons were hosted by Mark S. Allen. During its run Janet Decker, Joe Bolster, Marc Maron, Laura Kightlinger, Sue Murphy, Brian Regan and brother Dennis Regan were celebrity hosts on occasion. When SAST originally aired, it was on The Comedy Channel. The only trademark behavior established by the show's original hosts was the "chair dance". The show is also the first to air Marc Weiner's "head puppets," in a series of short skits. In 2002, Comedy Central began airing Comic Remix, something of a spiritual successor. The show followed a similar format, and even used many clips which had previously been used on SAST'.

Spanish Archer was a talent show hosted by Rhodri Williams and occasionally Ruth Madoc. It was produced by L!VE TV and filmed at the station's headquarters at Canary Wharf in London. The title for the show derives from the phrase meaning rejection, where "Spanish Archer" would be said to translate to "El Bow", hence "Given the elbow". The TV show deliberately took this in a very literal manner, and expanded the joke as far as it possibly could.
Midnight Spank was the former name of a late-night block shown on G4. This block was originally based on G4's recent venture to Williams Street Studios, pioneers of the Adult Swim block on Cartoon Network. G4 Late Nights was made originally to offer the similar content like that of Adult Swim. The block now offers syndicated content targeted towards the 18-25 male demographic. Midnight Spank aired mostly acquired programming, with occasional original programming. Midnight Spank premiered on May 8, 2006 at 12am on G4. The block was discontinued by mid-2008, and currently encore's of G4's primetime schedule air in the timeslot.

Dick Spanner, P.I. is a 1986 British stop-motion animated comedy series which parodied Chandleresque detective shows. The title character and main protagonist was Dick Spanner, voiced by Shane Rimmer, a robotic private detective who works cases in a futuristic urban setting. The show made frequent use of puns and visual gags. The series consisted of 22 six-minute episodes, covering two story arcs of equal length: "The Case Of The Human Cannonball" and "The Case Of The Maltese Parrot". The programme was originally broadcast in the United Kingdom as a segment of the Sunday morning show Network 7 on Channel 4, and was later repeated on the same channel in a late night spot. Produced by Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson, the series was created and written by Terry Adlam, who had previously worked on effects for Anderson's Terrahawks. It was also the basis for the Anderson-created Tennants Pilsner advertising campaign using the Lou Tennant character.

Morimura Aiko is a junior high school student who is short for her age. Her father went on a yacht ten years ago and his whereabouts remained in obscurity. Around the same time, another dog, Spank, appears before her. Having gone through so many unfortunate events in her life, Spank's presence begins to brighten up Aiko's life and put a smile on her face.

Destinos: An Introduction to Spanish, also known simply as Destinos, is an educational television program created by Bill VanPatten, who was, at the time, Professor of Spanish and Second Language Acquisition at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. The show, designed to introduce viewers to the basics of Spanish, had two seasons, beginning in 1992. Its 52 episodes are often used for educational purposes in schools and are still broadcast regularly on many PBS stations, as well as many local channels. Destinos was produced by WGBH Boston and funded by the Annenberg/CPB Project, with additional funding by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.
